House@3_ Apartment in Troia (FG) - Cibelli + Guadagno Architetti

The Cubed House aims to highlight the third dimension of the domestic space, to have a stream of materials, furniture and lighting that are articulated in space with this specific intention. Two "functional" volumes, closet and bathroom, run between them. The floor (oil finished Teak Asia) favours this sliding motion wrapping itself on the two walls, up to the ceiling. It's not a wood paneling, but it's the second dimension (the floor) which conquers the third dimension. The suspended forniture in the dining area, express its three-dimensionality; full-height glazed screens allow the eye to see through it giving depth to the space. The upward impetus is underlined by the full height doors. The lights act as a link between the rooms and their functions. Three steel axles "L" like two-dimensional Cartesian planes, connect the surfaces and create a connection between spaces, while the light beam becomes the third dimensional axis.
